Frequently Asked Questions

We pull from the open Radio-Browser community database — a free, open-source directory maintained by volunteers worldwide. It indexes 30,000+ public Shoutcast / Icecast / HLS streams from broadcasters in 200+ countries.

Internet radio streams break for many reasons: the broadcaster is offline, the URL changed, they're geo-blocked outside their home country, or they use an unsupported codec. Try another station — the directory has plenty of alternatives. Stations the community has marked broken are filtered out automatically, but new breakages happen every day.

Yes. Internet radio streams are public broadcasts. We don't re-host or record anything — your browser connects directly to the radio station's own server. Stations include their own ads, sponsorships, and royalty payments to artists, exactly like tuning in on FM.

Locally, in your browser's localStorage. We don't have accounts and don't sync to a server. Clearing your browser data will erase favorites. On the upside: nothing about your listening leaves your device.

Yes — iOS Safari, Android Chrome, Firefox, Edge. On iOS, the first play may require a tap (browser audio autoplay policy). Background playback works on most setups but Apple Safari may pause when the tab is fully suspended.

Add it to the underlying directory at radio-browser.info/add. Once it's verified by the community moderators it'll show up here automatically.
